Non-insured services

Did you know that some services you request are not covered by OHIP?

Non-OHIP covered services are those services provided to patients that are not covered by the Ontario Health Insurance Plan (OHIP). The Ministry covers the cost of all insured medically necessary services provided by physicians, however it does not pay for services that are not considered medically necessary. These may include:

  • Sick notes

  • Charges for missed appointments

  • Completing forms for daycare

  • Insurance forms/letters

  • Employment/work letters

  • Invalid health card on the day of your appointment

Please check out the list below prior to your appointment to understand if there may be any additional costs. These costs are subject to change as per OMA recommendations.
